The multi-ringed Crisium basin.

Staring down the telescope eyepiece last night, I saw the terminator crossing Mare Crisium in such a way that all the main basin rings were visible.

Crystal clear night

Last night was the most transparent and darkest sky I can remember in Bishopthorpe. The gales and wind of the last couple of days had blown over and we were left with a fresh, cold, clear sky, and a crescent moon that quickly set. I spent a memorable couple of hours outside and I didn’t want it to end.
